Nordic Rheology Conference
Lund, August 25-27, 2026

  SCOPE AND THEME

The conference, as usual, covers all aspects and areas of rheology. All types of contributions are welcome, scientific results as well as industrial case studies. The aim is a large gathering of people interested in scientific, technical and application development within the area of rheology. The program of the NRC2020 turns the spotlight on the rheology combined with X-ray and neutron techniques with applications in polymers, foods, coatings, paper, fibre, pharmaceuticals, etc. The venue for the conference is right between the X-ray synchrotron MAX IV and the neutron facility ESS in Lund, Sweden.

 

  CONFERENCE VENUE

The NRC will be held at The Loop in Science Village, Lund. The lecture halls are located around a central foyer where exhibitors will present the latest rheology instrumentation, where posters will be displayed and lunches and coffee will be served.

 

  CONFERENCE PROGRAM

The program will include a mix of plenary lectures by the invited lecturers and contributions from NRC delegates. The lectures start on Tuesday August 25th. The topics will cover all aspects of rheology, both theory and application, with the plenary lectures representing the spotlight topic. There will also be a poster presentation and an exhibition by leading rheology companies. The Annual Business Meeting of NRS will be held in connection with the conference program.

 

  SOCIAL EVENTS

The conference will include evening activities all evenings of the conference. Tickets to the events will be reserved at registration. All participants are requested to wear the conference badges as a ticket to the respective event.
  • Tuesday August 25: Reception at The Loop in Science Village at 18.00.
    Refreshments and finger foods will be served. The conference badge will grant entrance.
  • Wednesday August 26: Conference banquet at 19.00. Your badge will serve as a ticket which will be checked at the entrance. Please tell the waiters if you have ordered special foods.

 

  EXHIBITORS

During the NRC there will be an exhibition of rheological instrumentation, techniques and equipment. The exhibition will be located in the main foyer of The Loop where also posters will be displayed and coffees and lunches will be served during brake. If you are interested in participating in the exhibition please contact the NRS Secretary for further information.

 

  GETTING THERE

Kastrup Airport in Copenhagen is located 40 minutes from Lund city centre and has direct flights to most major cities in Europe, see Kastrup Airport web site.

There are high-speed trains to lund from Stockholm (4h), Gothenburg (2h), Oslo (7h) and a bus service from Oslo (7h). You can also arrive to Malmö (20 min from Lund) by ferry from northern Germany and Poland.

 

  GETTING AROUND

There is a train connection from Kastrup Airport to Lund by Øresund Train (40 min) and you can buy tickets on-line or from vending machines at the platform. You will also find travel and tickets on the regional travel web Skånetrafiken and we can recommend their app (Android, Apple) for finding connections and to buy tickets. Use the station names “CPH Kastrup Airport”, “Lund C” for Lund train station, and “Lund ESS” for the conference venue. There is a direct tram from Lund C to Lund ESS which takes 14 minutes. It is also possible to use your contactless credit card directly on the ticket machines on the tram and busses in Lund.
